The Future of the
Human Brain is Here
Market Coverage, Speculation, Analysis, and More…
Hi! I’m Naveen. I’m a writer and analyst exploring the emerging field of neurotechnology and its impact on health, markets, and society.
I use “neurotech” as an umbrella term for hardware and software tools transforming how we understand and interact with the brain and nervous system.
It’s a lens on what it means to be human. But what you see is up to you.
Leaders navigating this frontier - and anyone curious where markets are (and ought to be) moving - will find articles, analysis, and resources that aim to do a few things:
anticipate the collision of emergent topics in business, policy, tech, & advocacy
imagine neurotechnology’s impact on society
demystify pathways to commercial success for neurotechnology innovators

📖 More About Me
In a word: Writer.
In three: Analyst, Advocate, Storyteller.
Professionally, I’m a market analyst and ecosystem builder. I’ve worked at the intersection of healthcare innovation and patient advocacy for the last 16 years. I’m currently a Forbes contributor and a member of the FDA’s inaugural collaborative community, the iBCI-CC, where I support a workgroup focused on public messaging and communication.
Through my company, Patchwise Labs, I support neurotech commercialization for ARPA-H, via the agency’s Investor Catalyst and Customer Experience Hubs, as well as the NIH’s Blueprint Medtech’s neurotechnology programs. I’ve worked with health plans, hospitals, pharma, VC/PE, non-profits, Big Tech, and over two dozen startups on business problems ranging from patient engagement to health equity.
Think: research reports, data analysis, literature review, market landscape and sizing, due diligence, executive thought leadership, executive forums, public speaking, B2B storytelling.
Creatively, I’m an author of speculative fiction, exploring consciousness, identity, memory, dreams, cognition, and other mysteries of human existence. More than a hobby, this is my life’s calling and greatest ambition. I actually believe fiction holds answers to intractable social and business problems. My stories have been published in an academic journal, digital pubs, and two print anthologies. I’m working on a debut novel and a collection.
Think: magical realism, new weird, gonzo, solarpunk, post-postcolonialism.
In 2016, I founded a creative strategy firm to blend the two. It’s afforded me a chance to experiment with spreadsheet storytelling, satire-as-advocacy, short films, comics, digital magazines, events, and more. In early 2022, I became a father and redoubled my quest towards ikigai; that summer at a fiction workshop in Aspen, Colorado, an epiphany called me towards a new professional symbiosis of fiction and nonfiction writing (approximate moment shown above.) I soon discovered the wild world of neurotech, invested a year researching, and launched this Substack.
