Greetings, Readers, and welcome to the third quarter.
Despite the summer slowdown and ongoing uncertainty in the headlines, neurotech’s dynamism and steady evolution continue drawing interest in local news, niche networks, national media, and the global stage. Here’s what’s new over the last two weeks:
New funding in venture checks and research grants continues to trickle in. Stay tuned for a first-half-of-’25 funding tally
US federal funding for science & technology remains uncertain despite continued solicitations for grant applications. It’s no surprise then that research centers and programs continue to emerge, led by academic institutions, private backers, and overseas governments alike.
A fleet of prominent regulatory headlines emerged along with new executive appointments. Notable company updates include an acquisition, a rebrand, and two shutdowns.
Meanwhile, neuroethics discussions ascend to the global stage, while the neurorights movement gains national buy-in with the AMA’s seeming endorsement. But to what end?
Industry awards, new publications, and plenty of videos await you below...
On a personal note: I’m wrapping up a period of personal leave before diving back into all things neurotech this summer, from a backlog of articles to picking up strategic projects. If I’ve yet to return your message, I promise I will get to it very soon. If you are interested in partnerships, sponsorships, or other collaborations, send me your ideas!
