Neurotech Notables #57: June 15-30, 2026
5k Subscribers! New first-in-human. Ultrasound heats up & gets cooler.
Hello again Readers,
Here’s what happened in the second half of June in Neurotech land.
About $50m in new startup investments, not counting Histosonics’ latest financing, or a new commercial program financed by MidJourney for a full-body ultrasound scanner.
Aurenar’s FDA Breakthrough, Bioness’s 510k for the PONS stroke product they rescued from Helius, and Saluda’s FDA approval in spinal cord stim. Meanwhile the FDA advanced a pilot effort for accelerated drug approvals (but nothing yet on devices) and Vermont advanced a neural data law.
Coherence crossed the first-in-human barrier with three implants for their cancer-treating BCI. In China, Nanochap announced successful ‘functional restoration’ with their vision BCI. New ultrasound programs from Aleph Neuro and Lotus Neuro (the latter coming with funding for research teams).
Other notables include Snap Specs’s latest wearable; new clinical programs in TMS, TBI, Parkinson’s, stroke and spinal cord injury rehabilitation; a SLEEP conference recap;new SpecTech grants; a mouse to fish shift at Janelia, and more!
